Winter can be notoriously hard on your roof. But when it comes to what to watch out for, identifying ice dams should be at the top of your list. These frozen dams can cause all kinds of problems for your roof, some of which you may not catch until Spring if you don’t check now! 1.

Winter is here….and even though your name might not be Jon Snow, you probably want to make sure your own personal castle is prepared.

It’s that time of year in the Treasure Valley when the leaves change color, and temps drop and....you notice leaks in your roof. Your roof might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you’re thinking about home maintenance or repair, but let me tell you….

So….you’re replacing your roof. Or at least, you’re pretty sure you need to replace your roof. Some of the shingles have fallen off, things are looking a little funky and last time it rained you noticed some suspicious stains on your ceiling….at very least it needs a good repair.

Temps are starting to cool off here in the Treasure Valley, and that means fall is (finally) on it’s way! It’s going to get cold, and soon. Getting your roof ready for the chillier fall and winter months isn’t exactly hard…but it does take a bit of thinking ahead.

Leaks happen.  The problem is that even the smallest leak in your home’s roof can cause damage. Leaving a leak unfixed for too long can mean mold growing, which isn’t just gross, it also can be potentially dangerous to your health.

So we always tell our customers - if your roof is 15-20 years old, it's OLD. And an old roof means less energy efficiency, and protection from the elements and definitely nets you negative curb appeal points. So what should you look for if your roof is old and you're worried there might be problems?

So, you’re thinking about replacing your roof. Or maybe you’re pretty sure your roof needs repaired. You’ve taken the plunge and called a contractor (hopefully us!). And…now what? You’re a smart homeowner and want to understand what they’re talking about when they look at your roof.
